5 adults 2 minors and q toddler.
I tried one of their new steak and twisted potato entrees...wish I hadn't. I didn't like the taste of the sauce on top of the steak. I asked for a med/well steak and it was cooked alright...a little pink, but no char, and rather gray looking, so rather tasteless. The topping was supposed to be red onion and sliced mushrooms...think there were 6 slices of mushrooms. I tried the potato casserole, and it remined me of a boxed hash brown mix I tried in the 70's and didn't like. The potatos inside the casserole were a little hard and maybe had a lot of onion powder taste to it. It was suppoed to come with what looked like battered onion rings and asked if they would come with the meal and I was assured they would. The server brought out the meal w/o the onions saying they didn't have any so he asked that I choose another side. I tried their breaded onions which had an odd taste, and one I couldn't cut even with a steak knife. I ate 2 of them and left the rest. Also, the entire meal was lukewarm. Butter wouldn't melt on my veggies. Ryan, the server, was very attentive and polite. I seldom go to Applebees because the food is just OK, but wanted to try the new entree.
We need a glass if milk for my grandson. The bus boy got it for us. Smdh
I got the grilled chicken breast, it came out too well done. They should at least give you a steak knife to cut it with, because the butter knife rips it apart. But the server was friendly.
